The Shower and The Itchies

First off.

Thank you so much everybody that came to the shower and especially thank you to Mom and Kathryn for hosting and organizing and Mindy for Souping!!!

There were a billion +1 people plus 1 dog which is what every party needs. I have some pictures to post this evening.

The shower started early and ended late (11-4ish quite long for a brunch lol) and there were no overlapping gifts and no dog bites and no drunken brawls. A success on every front.

The menu

a vegan mushroom soup with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes on the side
a coconut lentil curry soup
a veggie chicken pot pie soup
a potato and cheese soup
a pea and green leafy something soup

tons of great bread and cheeses
lemon bars
snack bags of almonds and m&ms

Baked fish kindly brought for the non-veg by the Akumbu's
Cameroonian corn (with amazing similarity to my Abuelas tamales) also thanks to the Akumbu's
Salad with cranberries and nuts

juices and sodas and coffee and tea and water

and some stuff that i didn't eat so i cant remember but look closely at the pictures and you could probably make it out.

in baby news
Kiernan has dropped or lightened or whatever you call it. RL translation he is off my lungs and entirely on my bladder. i love being able to breath and eat freely. I was already going to the bathroom way too often so that other change is not so bad.
i am now walking like a duck with some sort of hip displasia (can ducks have hip displasia?).
We are 4 classes of 6 into the birthing course.
Strangely the more information i acquire the more undecided i become.
When i started out i was fairly sure it was gonna be an all epidural all the time sort of thing. This i think is a reaction to working in a lab. Science is good science is your friend take advantage of all beneficial science....
no i am not so sure
this is for a more philosophical post but i am less sure.
the classes are very interesting
the whole experience is very interesting
i have been having a lot of stabby pains and some braxton hicks contractions so things are getting warmed up now
we have lots of baby stuff
and a rocking chair and a crib
and the apartment looks like a place with a baby except that it is quiet and we sleep
lots of anticip...
