Easter cars and gardening

The grass was wet and so were the leaves. The Easter eggs consequently were wet as well. Kiernan spotted the first hot pink egg straight off. He picked it up and immediately put it back down. I thought that perhaps he didn't quite get that he was supposed to put them into the basket. No no!

He showed me his very pink hand and asked me to clean it. He then ran around the yard identifying 17 bright and colorful eggs and asking the nearest adult to pick them up and place them in his basket....hahahaha.

Overall we had great success with the egg hunt though we pushed nap time too long and had a good chocolate fueled meltdown in the end. We got lots of eggs and I gathered some tadpoles for an old fish tank in the kitchen for him to watch.

We went to my Dad and Marys house the next weekend and he got another Easter basket there. It was full of plastic eggs with die cast cars in them. These are now known as the Easter cars and must be moved as a set from his room to the living room to wherever else it is that he is going.

We now have way way way too many toys and this weekend will be going through them for a friends yard sale. Kiernan is going to help so the loss of toys shouldn't be too traumatic. He loves yard sales and there is a Caillou episode about getting rid of toys at a yard sale so i think that will help.

After a nap and lunch we went to see Nana and worked on her garden and played croquette. David mowed her lawn and Kiernan helped put dirt into pots and we all ate cheese and crackers and drank juice and hung out in the yard until late. It was a lovely family time. Kiernan got some tulips from Nana's garden and reinvented the two lips tulip pun and cracked us all up for the remainder of the evening.
