Today Megan is 6 months old and we went for her Dr.s appointment.
So Megan's growth looks like this right now. 2 months is a good read except that head circumference. 4 months is a little off because we did not have insurance during her 4th month so this is really an almost 5 month reading. 6 months is good and generally closer to the patterns that seem right. Mostly she is small and has a small head like I do.Also she is a premature and at this early stage should be reading a bit small.
In other news Kiernan has decided that it is potty training time!
His potty is covered in reward stickers and he is even using the toilet now!!!
Big Boy.
it was a sort of out of the blue preemptive potty training strike.
I was just gearing up (buying new books and looking at training dolls) for a big potty training push when he took matters into his own hands.
He announced on Sunday morning last week that he wanted to use the potty.
He woke us up with this news at about 630 in the morning. Since that time he has been reliably using the potty or the toilet all day and even having a few days with dry diapers all day long.
I so wish I could be home to help him with this.
Shower him with praises at the bare minimum.
He is now the boy that weaned himself and potty trained himself.
I think that next week (if all goes well) we will switch him over to underwear all day and diapers for the nighttime/outings...we shall see.
We got Popsicles and crackers and ginger ale and spent a few days laying about covered in blankets and not going to work. By Tuesday we were all basically on our feet again. Thank God for Grandma and Grandpa Scearce. They came up to take care of the sick kids while the sick adults slept. On Tuesday David and I went out the the spiciest Indian buffet in the area and blasted our sinuses clear with delicious food!
This is a strategy I recommend to all.
Once Megan is recovered from her shots...maybe tomorrow or maybe the next day, we will start solids.
I am excited about that. I am excited about seeing what foods she likes and about being able to share more family experiences with her. I want for Kiernan to share a treat with his sister and by the end of the summer they might both get to do that. lol if its home made applesauce they will be able to share a treat much sooner than that.
We are taking advantage of our spring rain and jumping in puddles and going mushroom hunting.
I am reading a lot and getting more sleep. If you follow the running blog you will know that we have a race this weekend with lots more puddle jumping :)

How wonderful, all this growing! Kiernan is such a smart little boy! I love the picture of him sleeping. He looks like a REAL boy. Not a baby anymore. Sad but wonderful. Love Meggie's sweet little smile! She is such a cutie! Great blog!
