We went to the mall and watched a Lion Dance and a Dragon Dance .
I told Kiernan all about how mommy and daddy used to do Kung Fu. We talked about lunar calendars and fireworks and China. He loved it all and asked some good questions about why the dragon was chasing that ball. I had no idea and had to look it up. We also went to play in the bamboo later and talked about Pandas.
On Friday we went to the Godard Spaceflight center Visitors center. That was a great thing to do on a rainy Friday. It is right next to Godard where Grandpa Scearce used to work and the kids were duly impressed. They had a Gemini capsule and Kiernan went back and forth between being an astronaut and being Han Solo
Megan was thrilled with her new hat. She was especially thrilled to be given it by her big brother.
Kiernan built the ISS. He really liked that it had a radiator like a car engine. He is a little gear head.
We looked at the rocket garden but it was quite wet and cold so we will have to go back to do that justice.
Sabbath was a hit. Kiernan made a Zacchaeus in a tree and did much better with the hand raising. Now we must work on the interrupting and the small stuff. He loved it again and this time Megan came too, Kiernan was particularly proud to be in a class that was for bigger kids and not babies like Megan.
After church we did some T-ball. We made a T out of an old pizza box and a roll from Christmas paper. It worked very well and I was inordinately proud of myself.
Also chronologically this is where the Chinese New Year stuff should go.
It was warmer Sunday. We went to Scearce's and added an immediately beloved see-saw to the playground! We ran around and had some fun out door time that resulted in deep naps for everyone.
A good weekend for all.
