To the Aqueduct!

On Friday morning Kiernan slept in so Megan and I took goofy pictures and played puzzles.
I think that she looks so much like my mother-in-law so that I rarely see any resemblance between us. The whole series of pictures that I took in our goof-fest though, showed me something else. Megan and I have the same natural goof.
We had a splendid time.

I have been dealing with nervous energy productively of late. All this weekend I hacked away at the wallpaper in the upstairs hallway. This is the last section.  Kiernan and Megan wanted to help. I sprayed a non-toxic wallpaper remover on the wall and let one or the other of them pull strips off of the wall.
Kiernan remembered a time when I made him Plates vs Zombies characters on the walls. He asked me to do it again.

I colored Zen garden plants.

He spritzed them to make them grow with 'fertilizer'.
I am so proud of how good the drawings look. Kiernan liked them so much he wanted to stop peeling and just leave them up.
This did in fact put a pause in our house work but that turned out to be a good thing.

We took advantage of the clear weather and went for a little hike at the Monocacy Aqueduct.

The kids gave me many a scary moment by refusing most of the time to explore the world any closer to each other than this.

The only time they were near each other Meg's fell and scraped her nose.

For instance while Kiernan walked on the un-guardrail side of the 20 ft. drop into the cold water.

Megan decided to try and dislodge icicles onto her own head.
hahaha
I love those crazy kids. We had a great time. My car-seats got covered in mud. Megan got so exhausted that she barely napped but overall it was a very good day.

On Saturday morning I got up very early to go do the Rules Judge thing at the Science Bowl
See that tiny dusting of snow?
It kept me from getting up the hill until almost 1:30 pm.
I felt very bad about this. I knew snow was expected and then just plain forgot to leave my car up the hill. I love the Science Bowl and really wanted to help out this year.

This is the very last bit of wallpaper. We got it off and then cleaned the walls with warm water and vinegar. Kiernan and Mom and I each got a sponge. We chatted and washed the walls and finished up the job. The next phase of this project is patching the walls in preparation for the new paint.

In other decorating news: airplants as wall decor. I am testing out the light levels in our bedroom for a really cool decoration idea. Follow this link.

David and I went on a cool date to Atomic and to 3 brothers and to the Restore. We got no guitars and one one calzone and one mirror.

On Sunday we went looking for paints some more and cleaned the house. I finally went all out on the bathrooms. There was ajax and bleach and mops and a great deal of clean.
This bathroom should be bright green next time you see it.
Lime green in fact.
The kids love this idea...me too.
