indoors and the return of snow

Freezing rain and light snow hit us.

We retreated to the indoors and played Minecraft.
Minecraft is a game that can be completely peacefully or more like other games with monsters and mazes.
I love Minecraft. I especially love it for 5 year olds. It is a game that has nearly no rules and no boundaries. Kiernan is using it to build forts and create tools. One of my favorite things so far about the game is that when nearly infinite powers over a world, he chose to make a chair next to a lava-fall so that he might sit and think about his future projects.
There is something revealing about his whole mind there. I suspect in the same position Megan would do something with swords and bashing.

We really only went out into the cold for tball practice. Our team had 2 of these cold weather sessions while most other teams have postponed. If all the teams have the same mixture of skilled and unskilled players this extra practice will do the Sluggers some good for sure.

Megan bundled for the rain and did a little singing and stomping.

Mostly we made spaceships and galley ships and forts out of cardboard boxes.

We did some shoe maintenance and some cleaning out of the boxes in the garage.

Occasional treasure was found.
Did anyone else play the old cool version of Shadowrun before Microsoft turned it into a mediocre first person shooter disappointment thing?
I have decided to keep all of our old video games and systems so that when we are ancient we can sell them for retirement money.
Also I am keeping them for any LAN parties that require old school distraction.

The piper pied the tune.

Sunday morning started with the normal pancakes but was mostly filled with work.

While I was at work feeling sorry for myself for being at work, it started sleeting and snowing and a group of runners struggled by. What a day for a race! They were getting dumped on by the sky and gritting their teeth and running like they might suffer if they stopped.
It reminded me that Licia had a half marathon that morning too.

When I got home the strawberry pyramids looked like this.
