A short week and some camping prep

Did you know that Megan wakes us up every morning with song?
Usually it is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star but this morning it was a rousing chorus of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. She is hilarious. Also loud, she is very loud.

Kiernan decided he could help with the chores this week. He usually has the chores of putting away the silverware and of making his bed. This week he decided to add retrieving the bins. Our hill is very steep and those bins are not light. So this successful scene of him nearly to the house is the culmination of a bout 10 minutes of little boy puffing and panting and several near misses.

Nana is on vacation for the next few weeks and she has decided to treat us all to some camping. We took the kids up to Catoctin to check out the cabins and to see how they felt about the woods. They checked out the cabins and the pool and the showers.

We then went to town and had frozen yogurt and reviewed our investigation.
Camp Misty Mountain here we come.

The kids pool spent the week in the front while we waited for the deck paint to dry.

We found out that Mount Airy has a seasonal Snow cone place called Jessica's, thanks to our next door neighbor. They have marshmallows for snow cones. I am still trying to imagine what that must be like.

Megan's room is looking better and better everyday. This is the nearly finished tree. Imagine it with a lot more pink and you will have it.
I will take a current picture this evening.

On Sunday we made pancakes...

and a ghast army to do battle in the dining room.

We had a visit from another shepherd rescue organization. I don't think it went very well. Megan was super riled up and the woman seemed to feel that her jumping and yelling would be dangerous around a dog. She may be right. It was a little discouraging. We haven't actually heard anything yet but I am not feeling super optimistic about our chances.
