Kiernan lost his mohawk and Megan was very entertained.
The kids are doing Yoga a few times a week now. I love this idea. I enjoy yoga when I actually get around to doing it. I quite like the KindaYoga that they are doing just now. They are working on their coordination and its another way for them to work on taking instruction and the guy in the video encourages things like banana smoothies.
We got back to our regular visit of grandma and grandpa's. The kids were very happy to be there. I installed Minecraft on their computer and Kiernan got down to the serious business of indoctrinating grandpa.
Grandpa is a really good choice for this project. He was an engineer and a pulp sci-fi consumer and for a while when we were in college (and MUCH to our delight) he was a PC gamer.
We have hit the real heat of deep summer. It's been in the 90's for a few weeks and the raspberries and blackberries are out in force.
Above is a picture of grandpa holding out a few fresh raspberries for the kids to try and grab on their forward swings. There was some hit and miss here but it sure says summer to me.
We borrowed the truck and a 28 ft ladder so that David could get up on the roof to work on the plumbing.
The roof is high and hot and scary. David is admirable and handy and brave. I like heights but know nearly nothing about plumbing. David hates heights but went up anyway. It was hot enough that he burned his hand a bit.
Kiernan recommended gloves for the next go round. David feels a plumber might be a better idea.
My smart guys!
Now that T-Ball season is over we have returned to Church.
I found out too late that Neither of the kids have church shoes that fit. This week I will work on something more appropriate than sparkly Hello Kitty shoes and sneakers for those feet on sacred ground.
Kiernan made a coat in honor of Hannah's coat for Sammuel. Usually the kids of his age have a craft to do and that is for sure his favorite part of church right now. This is also the first time he has done a scissor craft on his own at church. I was so pleased that our scissor practice is paying off. He quite liked his coat and wore it around for a bit. He did his memory verse easily and left in a good mood. I have been thinking about doing a dedication for Megan when David's dad comes out. We were going to do it last time he visited. Megan is getting far too old for it so if we don't do it this time I don't think it will get done.
After church was rough. Kiernan hurt his hand by getting it pinched in a swing chain and he spent the rest of the day on edge. That set Megan off for most of the day too. It was definitely one of those days that exhausted me.
We tried to distract the kids from their bad moods by picking berries and by going for a hike.
Our town is transforming some of the extra railroad tracks into walking paths. We went to see how that was going.
It was hot and sticky and very pretty.
Aunt Judy came over and we worked on our Limoncello project. We were at the straining stage.
Also we were at the simple syrup stage. For a short time the kitchen was a sticky still.
Now we will wait for 45+ days for the next step.
We were all excited for the World Cup final. Kiernan made us some decorations and Aunt Lore brought us some German Chocolate bars and David made veggie sausages and pretzels. I think I was the only partaker of sauerkraut.
Germany won with a very pretty goal in overtime.
We deafened the kids with "GGGOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!"
We then relaxed and watched the clock tick down and felt pleased about the world.
I think we will probably not wait for 4 years to watch international soccer/futbol again. I am looking at championship league games. I am looking forward to Kiernan's entry into the sport this fall. I am keeping my relevant pod-casts.
