Kiernan and Pax share an uneasy truce in which they spend only mellow and supervised time together.
Poor mom doesn't have that option and got a good nip in the hand early this week.
Megan and Pax are proving to be each-others famaliar. They are really good at winding each other up and getting themselves into trouble. They are twins.
This week two significant school things happened. The first and by far the most pleasant was a day for visiting the classroom and viewing the processes of the students. I went in to see Kiernan's morning and mom went in to see his lunch and some of his afternoon.
I love Kiernan's teacher and I love seeing him happy and productive at school.
The 2nd thing was that Kiernan's school let out 2 hours early on Friday and I had no idea.
He rode the bus home and was not allowed off because there was no adult to meet him. I was in the house oblivious to his presence. Then he went back to school and sat (like an angle according to the office staff) for over an hour waiting for me.
I felt like a complete failure as a mother.
In my defense I got a new phone. I hadn't set up my voice mail and never got the message from the school. It was only when I got a text from David asking if I had Kiernan that I had any idea. I haven't cursed so much in ages.
I was busy recovering from a crazy puppy and a stuffy fussy Megan.
I was tired from many hours up in the middle of the night all week comforting poor stuffy Megs.
I have a terrible time with numbers and was convinced that he was out 2 hours early on Monday instead.
I suck.
He forgave me readily enough and remained good humored if puzzled as to how I could forget him.
That was probably the most painful bit.
Enough complaining.
Look at this cool Minecraft Papercraft!
David and Kiernan were building and modeling blocks for hours.
On Saturday night we had a tiny dinner party. Martin brought us some great food and a cool Euro style hot plate to cook it on. The meal was fondu like. It was called Raclette. The cheese is Raclette and the process is refered to as Raclette. See this article for a good explanation.
Kiernan was allowed to stay up with the grown-ups for an extra half and hour. He was punch drunk with sleepiness and excitement, cute and crazy obnoxious.
We used Martins muscles to halp load up the pick-up with wood and move heavy furniture before he fed us. On Sunday morning we took the wood to Scearce's.
Kiernan and I had special 'Mommy-Kiernan" time.
It was good.
We played by the creek and hung out and decompressed a little in the surprisingly warm evening.

A great idea! Cold carrots for teething pups. Love that and we'll pass it on. Thanks.
