Why is it so warm?

I haven't put up a picture of me in a while. Here I am. Look all worky...

This week my mom had another Doctors appointment to check her ears. So she brought Megs by for lunch.
Mom is still deaf as a post. The Doctor said that her antibiotics aren't working and switched her to another kind.
That is the potentially good news. They may be able to help her out with the now 3 week ear infection and fever.
The bad news is that he ears are permanently damaged.
The Doctor said that she is in profound to sever hearing gloss and they are hoping to get back about 50% of her hearing in one ear but that the other one is pretty much shot.
I got her a silly looking handset for her cellphone. She wants some Bluetooth headphones for Christmas so that she can hear her TV and her Echo.
Poor mom. :(

She set up her tree and let the kids decorate it. She is still working normally. We are all yelling at her all the time.
If you have ideas about how to make her life easier let me know.
She already got a hearing aid.

This morning I was a goodie and managed to take Pax for a walk every morning. I got some great pictures of the sunrise or the fog depending.
Its been so warm that the walking was a pleasure.

On Friday we went to Scearce's to pick up the truck and to let Megan monopolize  Grandpa.

That evening at work I picked up a ton of pallets for Scearce's to burn.

On Saturday morning I took the dog for a walk. Then we did our major projects for the weekend.
I have no pictures of the pile of Christmas cards addressed and stamped but rest assured that it was impressive.

David did the gutters.
Very high.

On Friday Megan and I picked up a cotton candy machine from Uncle Chris and on Saturday we made good use of it throughout the day.
This machine is cool. Simply drop in a small handful of any hard candy and it will become cotton candy floss in less than a minute.
Good stuff.
We made 1. candy cane 2. Jolly Rancher Sour Apple and 3. Lifesaver Butter rum flavors.

On Sunday it hit 76 degrees so we put on our flip flops and headed to Scearce's with the pallets.

Then we played in the creek while David worked on their computer.
Throughout the weekend Kiernan played up the hill with some of the neighborhood boys. They did scooter tracks with sidewalk chalk and occasional forays into skateboard luge.

There was some conflict and some cooperation and I was very pleased by its unstructured spontaneity.
During the week (while I was at lunch with a friend) I had a call from the Twin Ridge guidance councilor. Kiernan had been involved in a fight. Then David got a call from the health room.
Everything turned out fine but I have now had 3 different stories about what actually happened. The rough version is that there was a slide and a push and another boys pants got wet and he got mad and then there was a chase and another push...
The next day I got a call from the assistant principle to tell me that they were on top of things and that both boys had been talked to and some paperwork had been filed.

On Sunday night we went to see a live nativity. It was fun and a bit disorienting for Megan but she loved it and nearly got us a donkey.
After it was over Megs and I went to see the animals while Kiernan guarded our hot chocolate.
He was in a very hang back mood.
Megan petted a goat and a camel and a donkey. She wrapped the donkeys lead rope around her arms and headed off toward the parking lot.
Oh that girl!
We saw quite a few of Kiernan's cub scout pack mates there and he was not so withdrawn as to forget his manners. He said hi to his den leader and then asked to go home.
We drove by some beautiful Christmas lights and the kids reminded me that we were supposed to get a Christmas tree already.
So we went home and switched cars and got daddy and headed to the Christmas tree lot.

We got a good tree (pics next week) and then Kiernan's warranty gave out and I took him up to bed early for a few chapters of Prince Caspian and some quiet.
