Happy New Year Everybody

The kids had an ice skating camp this week. Kiernan said it was good but too long. He fell on the ice and cracked his head pretty good. He sat down for about 15 min with mom then went back out with a helmet on.
Megan was super excited to do a class like thing but got mad at them when they expected her to obey the rules and stick with the class.
The building was very very cold and we bundled and layered just to sit in the party room.
Both kids would like to do ice skating again but for a much shorter amount of time.

Megan's Christmas rings finally came. I got so tired of her wanting to play with the magical gems in my jewelry box (by upending it onto the floor!) that I got her one of her own for Christmas and had ordered some very cheap and shiny rings for her. This one is her claddagh. She loves the rings and i was surprised to find that Kiernan loves them too. I have sent off for a few more rings in the tiny size 2 that fits them both.

We took Kiernan to Star Wars this week. It was his first movie in a theater. He was so happy to go with me to work and super excited about the movie. He was adorable.

Unfortunately the noon showing sold out before we got there so we asked him if he wanted to try the 3D. He did. Unfortunately he has inherited his mothers troubles with 3D. We left halfway through and he went home to lay down for a few hours to get over the headache and nausea.
David says the movie was very good.We will try again in a little while on a non 3D version.

I finally got around to making some Mince pies. The house smelled like fruit and rum for a bit there but no one seemed to mind too much.

I started going for longer walks with Pax and even some short runs. She needs to trim down and I am about to try to start trying again in earnest. Megan likes to come with us but will start begging for a head ride (up on my shoulders) after about 10 min. I have been having this tingling sensation in my hands recently and putting Megs up on my shoulders makes it much works. I think I may be compressing a nerve.

The pies were very well received and I still have a whole jar of mince so I will make some more shortly.  Its supposed to last for a bout a month in the fridge (thanks brandy and rum).

We did some fireworks and sparklers for New Years eve and the kids loved them.
It started to get cold around then so we didn't have that dislocated feeling our 70 degree Christmas gave us.

We went to Scearce's and let Pax run. I dropped by my Dad and Mary's house to drop off their presents...which I forgot at home and to make them some soup because they are both sick. The soup went well anyway. I made that southwestern corn chowder that I am loving so much this last year.

We got some good chores off the list too over the long break. I took Davids car into Mr. Tire as the sun was rising and he took my car over to the TFL crossfit place to be beaten and abused in the name of fitness.
He is so very sore and happy.
This was one of my Christmas presents to him. A trial month of Crossfit. So far so good.
We got a good visit in to Uncle Chris and Aunt Pammy. It was the adventure of 3 small bladders for a while there. Hilarious!

I took Kiernan to get his haircut before the school year started back up. Also we got some frozen yogurt.

The haircut place (Greatclips) lets you check in online and then tells you on your phone how long your wait will be. I wish more places had that. While there I got to witness the Redskins beating the Cowboys and was pleased.
We got a Surprise visit for a just-back-from-Kansas-for-the-holiday Aunt Judy.

I went running for real and then fell over on the couch for the rest of the day.

We didn't quite get around to taking down the Christmas decorations (next weekend) but I love the way they look so I don't honestly mind all that much.
