Registry Is Up

I have been a goodie today. The registry is up. As I have been discussing with my friends at work I am not very comfortable with registries. It feels to me like this: look I am pregnant and now you must pay for it. I get that others don't necessarily feel that way but if you do, consider that I feel the same and let that take the pressure off. This stuff is a list of things we will get. If you want to get it for us thank you very much but please don't feel obliged.

On a similar note the shower planning is under way. It will be at my moms apartment in Germantown and will be hosted by Deena (mom) and Kathryn (click their names to email them). If you want to go in with somebody for a gift or if you want to just chip in money for the expensive stuff let one of them know to keep overlapping purchases to a minimum. Also if you want to go to the shower let one of them know that you are interested.

It has been my observation that most kids and babies have WAY too much stuff. I really don't want Kiernan to be a super consumer baby or kid or teen or man. Additionally our apartment is going to be pretty full with just the necessary extra baby gear. With that in mind, generosity is always honored and restraint is ever welcome. Please help us keep stuff simple. I really get it about showing affection through stuff. The impulse is both natural and culturally fostered in us.
You know what i mean. Fight the urge but also thank you.

Next week is the kidney check ultrasound. AAARRRR a nail biting time is had by all (mostly is had by me) this has been the longest between Dr.'s visits on the planet. We more than appreciate the prayers and finger crosses and positive thoughts from wherever you are at to wherever we are at.
