Maryland Renaissance Festival and Kilt boy

Things I learned about Kiernan at the Renaissance Fair.

1) Kiernan has an apparent inborn love of brass.
Near the food court area there was a 6 piece brass band playing mostly pre-renaissance tunes. Kiernan ran over to the band sat on the ground and stared in awe. He would occasionally jump up do some spins and clap then sit back down. I had to wait for a break in the music to drag him away without protest and hurry to the next deeply diverting thing.

2) Kiernan is so much bolder than his parents.
I was fairly certain that he would be overwhelmed by the noise and the crowed and the unfamiliarity of the festival. But no! What a great exciting time he had. He ran around practically dodging through legs and joining conversations. He seemed to love everything and he charmed so many people. For instance the knife vendor who taught him the phrase pokey-pokey. (Which of course Kiernan is still using.)

3) Kiernan was the beau of the ball.
Ok this one didn't surprise me even a bit but it is great to see so many people responding so well to him. He was adorable in his kilt and happy. Apparently random strangers were taking his picture and throwing compliments the whole time. (super proud mom glowing with pride)
