The Scary Night
Two nights ago David and I returned to our room for the first time in almost a month. We conked out pretty early. It was nice to be back in the big big bed and it was nice to have the little shelf where I put my ring every night. The room was darker than normal as we had put up black out curtains for Erena but had never actually slept with them. Sometime in the middle of the night I got up to go visit the restroom. Apparently I halfway woke David at this time. As far as we could piece together afterwords this is what happened. David looked around and was disoriented by the darkness and the strange room. Then he saw a dark shape headed towards Kiernan's room. Fatherly rage overtook him and he charged. What I heard was a sort of moan/yell and then boom boom boom as he sprinted across the room at me. Mind you I am also half asleep and fairly disoriented myself. BUT upon hearing large angry thing behind me took off as fast as I could for the room across from ours. Happily we are in the process of replacing Kiernan's rocking chair (Kiernans favorite look mommy i can jump across the room and make this chair slam into the wall) with bean bag chairs. I had brought a bean bag chair up for Kiernan to see but hadn't put it away. David hit the beanbag chair first and spun off into the door frame just before he got to me. This slowed him down enough for me to go "David its me ...David...David" with some distress. He pretty much came to and wondered what had happened. He now has a huge bruise on his shoulder and some scrapes on his foot. He also has a wife who keeps waking him in the middle of the night to let him know that she is getting up now. lol Yikes On the other hand now I know with a certainty that if we have an intruder we also have a serious and instinctual defender.

This is just the greatest story!!! AMAZING!!! Lordy, Missy, you could have been on the unfortunate end of a martial artist's onslaught! Thank God you were able to wake him up and clarify who you were in time!!! It does my heart good to know that you and that beautiful blonde boy are under David's watchful eye and care! ;)
