My birthday was outstanding.
Mom came over and give us the gift of sleep.
I cannot stress enough how wonderful that was. She slept in Megan's room with her and took out our monitor and we slept. We were giddy all week thinking of it. We got subs and Dr. Who and cuddled in bed and fell to sleep before the episode was over and I only got up once to pump and it was so so so wonderful.
The next afternoon dad and Mary came over and watched Meg while David and Kiernan and I went to the pool where David and Kiernan splashed around and I soaked in the pregnancy prohibited hot tub and sauna.
To be honest I couldn't resist Kiernan in the pool and got out of the heat a few times to watch him play with them in the pool.
Kiernan and David got me socks that rock:
Those things go above the knee and are close cousins to my other pair that are red and white striped with skull and crossbones on top. hehehe I love them.
and then there was Christmas:
Lots of fun and lots of family and lots of mess and lots of sugary foods and lots of love.
I want to make sure that Kiernan doesn't get the whole what did you get me thing. I want him to have generosity and to associate the fun of Christmas with giving too. So with that in mind the week before Christmas I took him to the dollar store with 10 bucks to spend as he would...eerrmm that is to spend on others as he would. He did a bang up job if a very candycentric one, and he surprised me with some of his great matches. Some gifts were so perfect that I can't think his choices were entirely driven by his own desire for others to share their purchases with him.
I was given so many cool things it made me wonder how I could live up to all that coolness. lol
I wish I could have gotten more people more stuff or that I had actually managed some Christmas cards. I am glad we got done the things we did, the church and the cooking and the stocking stuffers and the family time. I think everyone really had that grateful close Christmas feeling, so all in all hurrah.
A final note:
Megan just had her 2 month Dr.s visit this morning. She has doubled in wight and begun to exhibit the trait of big headed-ness that we mock her father for. hehehe
She had 5 shots and an oral inoculation and she was a trooper. She has begun to do her social smiling and her smiles are really truly deeply beautiful. She still isn't sleeping very well and we are all suffering a bit from that but my major fears for her are nearly all passed. She and Kiernan seem to dig each other and she seems healthy and feisty and her own person already.
