My work is having major layoffs next week. nervous...
David got me a kindle fire for my birthday/Christmas present. It is so cool. Kiernan already knows how to use it even though he keeps looking for the iPad's button like on Grandma Mary's tablet.
smart boy.
My maternity leave is being cut a bit short due to a major payroll mishap. I am fairly upset about it but I get that mistakes happen. I wish that many of the screw-ups this week hadn't happened. The insurance not working was scary and even though it wasn't my fault (someone at work forgot to put some paperwork through) I felt like a bad mom for leaving Megan uninsured. We had to pay for her Zantac refill out of pocket which sucked but got the generic so it wasn't too bad. It was embarrassing too being at her first frenulotomy appointment and being turned away because of her lack of coverage but nothing serious happened thank God while she was uninsured so it all worked out in the end.
The payroll thing was basically a mistake in my maternity leave pay wherein I got way overpaid but thought it was just some of the odd looking check stuff I was told to expect. Now I need to either write Qiagen (my work) a check to pay them back or I need to go back to work and get my pay docked by the end of the year. If I hadn't used up all of my sick and vacation and floating time already it wouldn't be an issue either but I have so there it is.
I was hoping to stay home longer but a lot of that hope included time off for Xmas and new years and the personal and floating days we get at the start of the new year and Megan's prematurity nixed that plan anyway.
Now I am just hoping to have a job in the new year to keep the insurance and the vacation days from.
In less somber news: one of Meg's ears is pointy! She is Megan half Elvin. lol
David and Kiernan were playing Galaga on Davids phone. Kiernan said "I am pressing the Fire button and you are steering." David said "That's right we are a team." just then an alien ship plowed into them blowing up their ship. Kiernan looks and David all serious like, "We aren't a team anymore.".
hahahaha
Things work out
