Busy Busy Easter with Bonus White House

Even though I usually start with a Friday recap I am going to skip that and just mention that I have an infection on my leg and went to the Dr. and am on antibiotics and that took up much of Friday.
David stayed home to watch the kids and they were very happy to have him.

On Saturday Kiernan had his big singing debut .

Here is a video of the Jesus Loves Me 1st and 2nd verse that we have been practicing for 2 weeks

After church we dyed Easter eggs.

In the evening we had our version of International Tabletop Day. We played 2 of Pammy's games: Mall Madness and DreamPhone please watch these commercials for 90's hilarity.

My leg was killing me so I sat on the couch with my leg up and enjoyed the game play.

Easter morning arrived with bunny ears and chocolates and happy kids. We headed over to Scearce's to get in the egg hunt before it started raining.

I love this egg in this grass. Last Easter was much warmer but this year was more fun as Megan was able to search (with a little help from Aunt Pammy)

Megan was so happy and so proud of herself and stood around clapping for joy for quite a while.

We had to give Megan a head start because this boy was raring to go! Of a possible 16 eggs he left 4 to Megan.

After our egg hunt and great waffle breakfast we had races...

caught tadpoles...

checked our tomatoes...

climbed the log pile...

and remembered what a beautiful property we were on. We are so lucky to have the Scearce's in our lives!

Then we went home for naps and relaxed bubble blowing. Here you can see Megan with orange cheese puff face being charmed by Nana.

Monday morning dawned warm and bright and we spent the early part of the day playing outside and getting some early rest.

For our trip to the White House Easter Egg Roll!!!
I entered the lottery this year and got in. I have been so excited about this event. I know that it meant well more to us adults than it did to the kids but wow it was great. We even got to see the President leaving in his motorcade.
I am so glad we went. I had a follow up appointment with the Dr. about my leg and she said to just load up on the Advil because it wouldn't hurt anything for me to stand for that amount of time.

Then we got in line. It was quite a line. We were in the last time slot of the day 4:45 - 6:45. The wind picked up and it got really quite chilly. I have to say the park service did a splendid job keeping everything moving along. We were especially lucky to have a helping hand from Aunt Pammy, who works nearby and who brought snacks and toys and a book and who chased Megan round while we waited.

Once we got through security we split up. Mom went to get the kids some food and drinks and Pammy took Megan around to see the Easter bunny, and PBS characters and Mr. Potato head and Pac-man and I took Kiernan to the Roll itself.

This is "The White House song and dance"invented on the spot  in front of the White House.

After the roll (which he is convinced he won) we jumped in  the hay and met up again with family.

Pammy took Kiernan for his state of the Egg Roll address...

Mom gave Megan a very serious pear.We took our last pictures and skedaddled out of there for the warm car. We were given snacks and commemorative eggs on the way out and both the kids chattered away the whole way home, hyped-up on stimulation and peeps.
