I will be in bed for the next few days
An ovarian cyst burst and leaked some sort of "irritating" fluid into my abdomen.
It's not nice!
I am on 3x Advil and an anti nausea drug and Vicodin...
I had lots of IV fluid (3 bags) and morphine
And a ct scan.
Now the bed rest.
I feel violently ill when unmedicated.
But just sort of achy and flu like when all med'ed up.
It started at work at around1:30 which is just after lunch for me. It felt ovarian and I pretty much ignored it for awhile.
I have polycystic ovaries and get pain like that from time to time.
This just kept getting worse.
It was accompanied by increasing nausea.
I went home early to sleep it off.
By the time David got home I was ready to go to the ER.
There is an urgent care facility in Mount Airy and we stopped there because I was starting to pass out from the pain.
It's all a bit of a blur here.
The gave me several anti nausea shots and a pain killer shot that had little effect.
Then they called an ambulance and I went to the emergency room.
Things were quite scary and painful until about midnight when the cumulative effect of so much pain medication and rehydration settled things down.
My ct scan showed a burst cyst and around 3:30 am we were sent home with lots of prescriptions.
Poor mom had her hands full with freaked out kids and a big storm that took out the power.
Needless to say we are all dragging this morning.
When I woke up I was completely unmedicated and shaking like a leaf.
David on very little sleep is taking care of us all.
He found an early (though it didn't feel early enough for me) open pharmacy and I was back to fully medicated by 10.
Thank God for him and modern medicine.
