At the playground today:
Kiernan spied a family with young children in a picnic area. He ran full bore to their table.
I was a little worried that he was going to help himself to their french fries so I followed as closely behind as my gimpy leg and back would allow me to. I arrived just in time to see him leaning insouciantly on their table and addressing himself to a little girl in a red sequin dress.
Kiernan: "My name is Kiernan and I am 4."
Little girl in red dress: gasps of amazement "I am 4 too!"
Kiernan: "Great let's play together!"
Little girl in red dress: ok!
And off they ran to the sand pit.
