The Big truck and the disgruntled Landlord

On Friday we went to a big playground in Frederick that I have been wanting to show the kids. This park (Pine Cliff Park) has a sledding run and an ice skating pond and a riverside and some nice nature features like the Monocacy River and some wetlands. No one was there when we got that but about 20 minutes before we left a group of moms on play date showed up. There were about 8 kids with them mostly younger than Kiernan but one was older. He wanted to play with them and I thought yay. There were several Tristans and a Connor and an Adian and a Logan lol it was the park of blond kids whose names end with N.
Kiernan couldn't quite integrate and it was a bit hard on him. Eventually after trying unsuccessfully to get one of the boys to follow him he went off to swing on his own. He said he didn't like the park and never wanted to go again...
We will try it again in a few weeks.
Socialization ug

On Saturday we stayed home because all of the kids church clothes were in Germantown. Megan talked to Cotton her new BFF. Kiernan was a very responsible big brother, offering repeatedly and even taken up on his offer at one point, to watch Megan for us.

We tried to clean out the garage in preparation for Sundays big move.
It was great to get computer desks set up and guitars and amps unpacked. There are couches and love seats and book cases all around. I can't wait to unpack more books!

Sunday morning (Mothers Day) dawned later for me than for everyone else. David made a big pancake breakfast for everyone and we left mom in charge of the kids so that we could set off on our biggest packing and moving day.

We got a free upgrade to a 16ft truck. This was a blessing because we filled it up completely and didn't bring the pick up this time.

I was pretty furious last week at our Landlord and his complaints about the state of the town house. My feeling was that as long as we were paying rent the place could be as chaotic as we left it. David on the other hand got constructive and has spent all of his lunch hours over in Germantown cleaning. He rented a carpet cleaner and did a wonderful job erasing the evidence of two kids and a few years.
I am of two minds about this.
1 David is incredible and has done such an amazing job.
2 When we moved in originally the place was not clean. Not nearly as clean as David has made it and I really resent the angst from our Landlord about the place.

We emptied out all the upstairs and most of the downstairs. There are a few boxes left in the kitchen and the laundry room still needs to be cleared out so we will go back with the pick up for that stuff. Lore cleaned the kitchen. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom. Daryl and David and Chris and Pammy carried boxes and bookcases and all of moms stuff from the basement.

Meanwhile mom and the kids found a new playground near the house with a big sandlot and there was some snacking on the deck.
When 4 o'clock rolled around we decided to head up to Mount Airy so that our kind helpers would have to put in any night work. I was a little disappointed not to have finished everything up but man oh man those helpers were helpful!

They filled the garage to the brim. Somewhere in one of these boxes are the screws and bolts to put together moms bed...
Wish me luck finding those soon. Mom got to sleep on a mattress on the floor for Mothers Day.
