It was a hot hot weekend! Here is my car temperature gauge from Friday.
In preparation for a family style German/Russian potluck I went to EuroMarket to see if they might have a few items that are hard to find. I got spicy Russian mustard that makes me cry and sweat and very happy. I also got these cherry ravioli. They are pretty close to a dessert that David's grandparents used to make and I am super relieved to find a ready made version because the dough always baffles me when I try it myself. Yay for Russian grocery stores!
Kiernan embraced his inner adrenaline junky and used the skateboard as a louge racing. It all went much better once I gave him my garden gloves and he put on his boots. I got a great video of him flying down the hill but the end of it turned into to something un-watchable as i sprint to grab Megan out of the path of danger so use your imagination for speedy skateboard run and heroic mommy swoop.
Before it got brutally hot I put up the tent and the kids decided they would nap in it. This is a problem with me cleaning out the garage just now. It goes like this: put thing away, throw thing away, put thing away, ooohhh whats this? "Hey kids come see this random thing I have found for us to waste time with!"
After it got hot we played in the pool. We did this everyday but this is my favorite picture so far.
Additionally as you can see in the previous post we are converting the under-deck to a play area.
Megan discovered that the pool slide works even if there is no water in the pool.
We went to Scearce's to let daddy have some time alone with the paintbrushes.
We got back to find him replacing weather stripping and smoke detectors, having already finished the 2nd yellow coat in the basement and the first of the white coats.
Given the option I highly recommend marrying someone handy.
