Mid Week Garden Update

The first bed is done and mulched and re-bordered.
I am really fairly happy with how it looks. It even garnered a compliment from our next door neighbor.
On Tuesday night I stayed outside digging until 11 or 11:30 under the floodlights. I was a little worried about getting the placement right and the holes deep enough in the weird dark/light of super shadows under those flood lights. I think it worked out.
I am out watering every night just before bed. I am getting eaten alive by the mosquitoes and this has fixed me in my intention to get a bat house soon.
Last night I was able to use the sprinkler for some of that because everything was centralized and in the ground in this section.
I played a level of plants vs. Zombies with Kiernan and then ran out to move the sprinkler then did another and ran out to move the sprinkler again.
Take that mosquitoes!
Yesterday while we were at work my dad came by and mulched the first bed and created from nothing the 2nd bed.
Holy Cow! That is a lot of digging in the hot hot sun.
As you can see this 2nd bed is to cover the sins of the front yard. We have an electrical box and a well with a bizarre basket thing around it to hide. Our original plans for this area were stymied by Ms. Utility marking off the area as a no dig (because of buried power lines: ORANGE -
Communication, Alarm or Signal Lines, Cables or Conduit and RED - Electric Power Lines, Cables, Conduit and Lighting Cables.  So no trees in there for us.

We still have a lot of plants by the side of the house to go in there plus a huge tub of bulbs that I haven't even touched yet.
So far so good.
