Our guests have arrived, let the pooling commence.

On Thursday of last week Kathryn and Erena arrived. Kiernan came with me to the airport to get them. He had a splendid time. Everything is marvelous and exciting when you are 4:

unexpected random throwing machines,

new inexplicable friends who grab your hand and accept your balloon present with grace..

Megan stayed home and slept and broke in the sandbox. I went to Lowes and got a few bags of 3$ sand to hold us over until I get the big stuff under the deck.

The pool is currently occupied about 40% of the time. This percentage includes night time and meal time. Those kids are just crazy about the pool. The girls were reduced to swim diapers out of desperation to get into the water quickly. It all started out with cute swimsuits and then degraded to jumping in fully clothed.
On Saturday morning we went to Scarces' and wound up in the creek...
Its all water all the time. Also some significant Jet-Lag.

Sunday morning started out with a 5k race. Please look at my running blog if you want more info on the race.

After the race it was back to the pool.

Kiernan took a break from the pool to look like a surfer dude and oversee the cook out test of our new grill.

After much successful veggie meat and fruit and veggie sears and grills we crashed hard and took a household nap.

Megan has been having the hardest time with all of this (Erena's jet lag notwithstanding). She is teething and she is clearly jealous of Erena and she isn't sleeping well due to both the teething and the noise of extra people up and around at night.
I have been trying to hold her more but really feel like I am not fulfilling some of my maternal duties due to busyness. I feel bad about it. So today I spent most of the day with her on my hip and I think we are both doing better for it.

This morning we went to the beach at Sandy Point State Park. It rained a bit and we had a blast.

Whew! Three weeks of this and I may just get tired haha.

Two important addendum to all of this. First of all Happy birthday to cousin Shawn.

He's the tall one ;)

Mom has been having some shortness of breath and some heart ...things (she has a mummer and an enlarged heart and she has been feeling very tired lately). So today she had a good deal of tests at the Cardiologist including the hardcore stress test.
I will post the results here as they come in.
