Christmas and our annual ER visit

A work Christmas party that was actually a farewell party for a co-worker.

The introduction of Portal to Kiernan.

A beautiful pile of sight words.

Wrapping packages into some ungodly hour of the night.

The last chocolate of the Advent calendar.

Christmas Eve ice skating.

The inaugural dislocation of the elbow.

The blessed quick recovery after the doctor pulled Megan's arm back into place... Ugh!

The calm after the storm.
Christmas Eve day was exhausting. I was so broken down by the events of the day and by the late night wrapfest that I physically hurt. Being next to your child when they are in pain and not being able to help is just a horrible experience. Poor poor Megan. Poor David too. She was falling and he grabbed her arm and her elbow went out of place. He felt so terrible. She also didn't feel so hot.

The thing that happened to her is called Nursemaids elbow. Apparently it is pretty common and until she is 4ish it is much more likely to happen again. So nobody swing Megan by her arms until she is 4 okay?

Here as promised is Kiernan presenting the Christmas Pickle tradition.
Fittingly he is the one who found the pickle this year and so he got the first present.

Not surprisingly he chose the big one.
It was a guitar!

 Megan got singing Queen Elsa!

Then the Chaos took over and there were space suits and beads and crafts and building projects and beautiful clothes and warm clothes and treats and sugar plumb fairies as far as I can tell. There was also a great big family meal with Mexican food.

The next morning there were stockings and building and a big family meal part 2 with more brunchy things and Aunt Lore again.

Over the weekend we went to see Uncle Chris and Aunt Pammy.
They constructed a huge box fort and pirate ship. The kids climbed and crawled and sailed the Strassburg Sea.

They even got Popsicle treats.

Finally we went to ToysRUs to spend some Christmas money on one toy that hearts desire had not yet answered.
My Little Pony has taken hold in our house.

In Japan there was rollerblading and pinkness.
