On Wednesday Aunt Licia braved the snow to join us.
We spent a warm evening working on Kiernan's sight words (look how many!) and petting the puppy.
It was very pretty and threatened to be deep but when I got home from work it was only about 4 inches and tapering off.
The next morning we left early to do the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
It was much warmer than last year.
The kids were in good spirits
They ran their little legs off and got metals and cheers.
We spent the rest of the day cooking and eating and sledding on the hill.
We were so busy I took no pictures of the actual Turkey-day.
Martin came over and Aunt Lore came over.
They brought great food (onion cake and fruitamisu and special-k).
The next day we had so many leftovers we did it all again.
I worked on Christmas cards. If you feel so inclined below is my grandmothers address send her a note. Life in a care facility is boring and depressing.
On Saturday we took the kids to the Smithsonian. First to the Air and Space museum and then the Natural History museum.
The Air and Space had some cool activities for kids like this mini wind tunnel and bin of test flight materials.
There was no snow downtown. It was very pretty if a little cold.
We also took Pax for her first Vet visit in Mount Airy this weekend.
Her vet said that she needs to switch foods away from the Buffalo to the Science because of associated renal failure. I then spent quite a while reading about dog foods and dog nutrition.
I also spent some time reading up on Pax's worrying new habit of growling and snapping when she is very tired and doesn't want to go out in the evening.
On Sunday we went to see Grandma Mary and Papa. The kids and the puppy had a great time.
We went on a long walk with the dogs. We walked to a playground, so everyone was happy as could be.
There was chaos.
Once home we began decorating for Christmas. It looks very pretty to me. Next we will add the wreathes and the rest of the net lights.
Now our snow has melted but we will get more next week.
Now Kiernan's long Thanksgiving break is over and its back to school for him.
I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for my life.
I am thankful for being hungry this year, especially in comparison to last years illness and anxiety.
