Please play this handy soundtrack to this weeks blog.
Pax is becoming calmer each week and sleeping longer through the night. She is still not kid safe early in the morning but by afternoon all tends to be well. Here she is helping David with the dishes.
The Christmas lights are all up. And of last night the wreaths as well. It was too wet and dark to take a good picture of that yet though.
Pax socialized with the neighbors puppy. I hope this ends up being an easy outlet for her dog sociability. I know that their older dog (the yellow lab above) is not long for this earth so I think the neighbor puppy could benifit from a friend too.
It rained over the weekend so we did indoor things. We had a tea party.
We did art.
We did tea inspired art. Kiernan drew himself (with daddy) having an outdoor tea party in the sunshine, Megan did a this is how tea makes me paint, I did a memory of seeing tea fields near mount Fuji, and David did a tea set unfinished due to bouncy Megan.
Pax ran around in the mud and rain and got stinky and filthy and therefore got her first bath.
She liked the bath fairly well and paced back and forth snorting at the water but the drying procedure made her a quivering snarling white-hot ball of canine terror
Kiernan and David played a number of board games and we discovered that Kiernan and his aunt Jessica have similar magical Jenga skills.
We asked the kids what they wanted to do and they said bowling and ice skating.
Mount Airy has duckpins!
I love Duckpin bowling.
Mount Airy Bowl is small and cheery and we had a great time.
Kiernan really held his own with the smaller ball.
Megan was an excited (not to say thrilled) participant.
Next week the ice skating.
We made gingerbread cookies and got out the wreathes to hang up.
It feels like winter now. The kids are up in the dark and opening their Advent Calendars.
It snows on and off. We stamped through our first ice crusted puddle on Saturday. My birthday is coming soon and Christmas soon after.
At this time of year I read Susan Cooper stories and drink Mexican Hot Chocolate.
