Turning slowly

David and I each took time off of work this week to take care of the kids this week.
I even took Kiernan to work with me briefly to fix a cranky robot.
We took Megan in to the Dr. twice for her pain and on the final visit she did have an ear infection in each ear.
The antibiotics are working and the earaches are gone.
The kids are low energy on and off.
Megan needed a lot of holding and Kiernan only went to school twice the whole week.

We spent some time on the swing and we avoided the sugar and we ate lots of yogurt.

By Thursday things had calmed down to the recovery end of things. The kids were napping a lot.
On Friday went to Scearce's.

Pax went to the creek with joy and mess.

On Saturday We put the plants out.
We  put out tomatoes peppers and eggplants.

Kiernan wanted to play in my new tent.

He actually wanted to camp out Saturday night but he was still sick so I vetoed it for the time being.
After that was set up we went to the dump again to get rid of our old garage stuff, finally.

We also went to the Hit-A-Thon.

Kiernan got 10 hits thanks to all you kind donors out there.
He did quite well. He got balls into 2 of the 3 prize circles and his longest hit was 95 feet.
It was fun.
It was hot and the kids wilted again pretty quickly but it was good to be back out doing normal things.

On Sunday morning I was woken with breakfast in bed and Megan shouting Happy Birthday!
I giggled and coughed for about 10 minutes on that one.
They got me a beautiful book and nutella pancakes and a game from my wishlist and David got me (OK he got me all of that) a wonderful bass door plate with a green man on it.
It looks like this.

The kids played in the tent and I spent a huge portion of the day working on my finals for Bio and Psych.

I have a beautiful art cup from Kiernan's school as well.

I was feeling low and stressed about school and work and sick kids on Friday but I kept looking at this mug and reminding myself of all I have to be thankful for.

This morning before the sun came up both kids independently came into our room and crawled into bed with us. They were sleepy and warm and wanted hugs.
I am very lucky indeed.

Next weekend I am doing the relay for life walk and if you would like to throw money at them on my donation page please click here.
