The flooding at work has caused our eating/meeting room to look like this.
It is very stinky!
There is more rain on the way. It is too much rain.
The big story of the week has been Megan. She has painted the dog. She has colored walls and cut her hair and cut Pax's hair. She has had a horrible skin infection boil lanced on her rear end. She is back on antibiotics. She painted her room with toothpaste. Then after we put the toothpaste up high she did it again with shampoo...to help us clean. Then when we moved that she did it with desitin to make it beautiful. This is a girl whose nap times are fraught.
She is a wild and crazy whirl wind. She is sweet and making surprising potty training progress this week. She is out of control and had to be taken away from a play group for hitting. She is brave and chatty and feisty and proud. She is exhausting all of us.
What this girl will be like at 16 is a thought to keep me up nights.
I came into my office to find her hanging from the top of the window frame.
I helped mom set up the tent in the backyard and make a fire in the firepit. Once again Kiernan stayed in the tent all night but Megan was out by 9.
I don't like her being out that late but its worth letting her try to camp and sooner or later we are going to move into the woods for some real camping.
David finished all the wiring for the lights in the half bath and he painted the green spot away plus put in the new orb hardware.
I cleaned Megan's toothpaste etc.
plus the shampoo that she added to help me clean.
We went over to my Dad and Mary's house again.
We went out to lunch at Ledo and hung out a bit.
Kiernan was in a mood. He was whiney and clingy and I wish I knew why.
Pax was happy as a clam.
If you ever wonder what a landscapers backyard looks like check this out!
I got into this major thai food mood due to a story that Kathryn is writing and decided to dedicate the 4 hours it takes to make vegan fish sauce.
It is basically seaweed reduced in mushroom soy sauce. It is a little stinky and pretty salty and I made so much I will be using it forever.
Not to be outdone by my cooking virtue David fixed the leaky plumbing in the laundry room. He built the PVC replacement frame then let it dry over night.
Then the next morning he found out that the previous plumber had glued a screw on part so that he needed to cut higher than he intended. There were many rushed trips to ACE and some fear of a night without water for the house.
There was only 1 water blow out before he got everything working perfectly.
He is amazing.
Then we went out to find a mirror for the bathroom.
The kids and Pax both spent some time out doors playing with friends.
This fun music game with Connor was cut short by Megan assaulting the poor boy over a harmonica.
sigh
While we were out getting the mirror we stopped at Noodle Co. Where the kids ate very well and gave me dubious looks for my gems of humor.
In other news it is cousin Shawn's birthday.
Happy birthday Shawn!
