Happy Anniversary to US

Megan has no cavities.

She was so good during her dental check-up that she got 2 prizes.

Kiernan is reading us bedtime stories.

All the way down to Florida and back I was appalled by the state of David's cars steering wheel. There are chunks missing from it and they make the whole driving experience uncomfortably prickly. So on Friday morning when Megan and I had the car for oil change we covered it with a cheap but so much nicer cover.
Then we went for a little hike.

We "fished" in a frog pond.

We splashed in the Monocacy.

We tracked birds and Raccoon.

Then we went home and hung out on the hammock.

This is the moment before Pax jumped in and joined us.
You will no doubt be impressed to know that I managed to keep us upright.

This weekend we also went to the Renaissance fair. The children attacked the castle wall to vanquish the dragon.

They met the king to be knighted.
Notice that Megan tried one of the rent-able costumes.
For 10 bucks she became a very happy 'Little Maiden'.
We had a great time despite a huge line and uncooperative ATM's.
We have learned the valuable lesson of buying tickets online and showing off the barcodes on our phones to avoid any future repetitions of that wait.

In Japan they built a cool Robot.

On Sunday we went to see the pool near Uncle Chris and Aunt Pammy's place.
Kaleb showed off his cool pool navigation skills.

Kiernan went down the water slide and into deep water.
At first he needed some help in the well but after a little acclimatization he was paddling around on his own in the 5 ft water.
It was so gratifying to see him there. It was another instance of  gratitude for his swim classes.

My garden is winding down for sure but this week saw potatoes and tomatoes in tiny tasty abundance.

Plus 2 surprise onions. See if you can see them hiding in those fingerling spuds.

Mom had jury duty early this week so I stayed home with Meg's.

It was our anniversary so David took the day too and we had a lovely time.
We went to the park and walked the dog and pushed Megan on the swing.
We had a little hike and went to the grocery store and I kept thinking about how I would have felt 13 years ago to see myself now.
I still love hanging out with David.
I have 2 happy healthy children.
My dog (it was Pax's birthday too so now she is a dog) was well behaved all day.
We live in a house that reminds me in all the best ways of my grandparents place in West Virginia (the place I may have been the happiest in all my childhood).

I would have been over the moon to discover this about my future self.
It was a really good day.

Then we went to the re-store and picked up a new light fixture to orb and life went on.

Happy Anniversary David.
