Blue Hair and a Hot Tub Party

The crystals turned out quite well.
They sort of went everywhere and I had a fair amount of cleanup to do. Look at my beautiful crystalline razor over there.

We put Christmas lights all over our cubes and then got lots of holiday chocolate.
good choice in both cases. It is merry and bright.

Megan got super excited about festivities and decided to wear her dragon queen dress to school.
She looks a bit Elizabethan but mostly as always with Megan, she looks like a blur running away or around

We got out the Christmas stuff.
Pax was very helpful.

It was fun and pretty and Megan was very happy, so was I.

In honor of the closing of the hot tub for the season we had a work hot tub party.
My friends from work came over. Mom made meat and veggie chilies. Then we all soaked in the tub or entertained the kids.
Poor David was not up for people and mostly hid a way in a very relate-able manner.
I was happy to see them and the kids were ecstatic but I felt pretty guilty about chasing David away from his own dinner table.
It was not the expected reaction and that is pretty much my only defense.
boo

On Sunday we had pancakes as usual.
David made the worlds greatest dad joke telling Kiernan that Nutella was better than oldtella!

In reward for his fabulous punmanship he got to hang Christmas wreathers and hang out of windows all moring.

Instead of being with his true loves.

Look his amp hound even got Christmas-y.

Megan and I took a good 2 hours over the course of the weekend to attack our heads with a vengeance. She had the sort of knots that good dreads are made from and i needed to re-bleach my roots in preparation for my blue Christmas hair.
She had shampoo (better than real poo) and conditioner for 10 min then hair oil for 30 then shampoo again and the next day a follow up treatment.
This left her hair tangle free but very greasy looking for 24 hours.
To console us both for harsh chemicals and hair pulls we got Christmas toes.
Hers are red and green.

I made a lot of good foods this weekend. I did pirozhki and pear tarts in addition to the pancakes.

The kids helped and the house smelled good. Everyone ate well in direct opposition to the deep pickiness of last week.
Speaking of eating well.
I have come up with a very simple solution to some of Kiernan's distress recently.
I have discovered that when he is catastrophizing his life he is often suffering from low blood sugar.
It took a very long tearful episode at Walmart to discover this solution but it seems to hold true.
Fingers crossed and a bag full of snacks for all!

The house looks good despite the cold wet days and the unfinished leaf piles.

Also I am now blue headed.
