Hot July and a new cat

Here is an important update to our last weeks tie-dye party.
Don't we look fabulous?
There should be two more in this picture. Krishna and Megan did some cool shoes and Chris made a fantastic BB8 shirt but this was taken as I was rushing out the door unexpectedly on last Friday and we couldn't find them for the pic.
I was rushing out the door unexpectedly because mom was having a most disturbing medical event.
Mom has a parasitic infection in her leg and she was at radiology where she could not keep Megan nor get home to Kiernan quickly enough.

I therefore went home early on Friday and took the kids out to the  pool at Baker Park.
What a cool pool!
Plus I got to use my super floppy mom hat.

Dad and Mary are in Hawaii now.

It is a tropical paradise that will look this way even in December.
Check out that banana chicken.

We are having some nice flora around here as well.

In exciting news of another sort Megan finally has her cat.
Sometime during the week a small gray cat appeared under the truck.
The truck is still not working (solenoid) so under the truck is a pretty safe place at present.
Megan has named her (him?) Pebble.
Megan is pending a lot of time outside talking to and reading to and petting Pebble.

Our Girl Scout jewelry project came back this week.
I thought the colors would melt into each other more but I am over all pretty happy with how they turned out.
Guess which one is Megan's?
It was such a simple craft but each persons was so defining and unique.
I liked that very much.

On Saturday I dressed up fancy (so did Megan but she changed her mind and went to watch Coyote Peterson videos instead of joining me).

As Megan was not the be pried from the house or her cat, Kiernan and David and I went out for a tasty lunch treat in downtown Frederick. We had Italian and its the first time that Kiernan has been to a non-chain Italian place. He loved it!
I always love Italian so that was good for me.

Also I got a decaf (no panic attack inducing caffeine for me thank you) cappuccino. Yum!

We got home and gave Pebble some dried cat food that mom had picked up. Boy was that a hungry cat!
I am hoping a few weeks of regular food will get her less skin and bones.
If she sticks around I may put a cat door in the shed so she can get some protection from the elements (and dogs) that is more substantial than the truck.
Also I am thinking veterinary thoughts. We sure don't need kittens and despite her very domestic affection I have no assurance that she has had her shots.

Megan and I went over to Scearces for a visit. Poor grandpa Scearce is still having a rough time of it from his shingles and the accompanying pain medications.
He is losing weight too quickly and too profoundly for me to be at all comfortable.
We left a few treats to tempt him.

Megs got to play in the creek and eat a Popsicle.

When we got back home we saw that the neighbors had gotten some new goats.
Also as you can see that the kids had gotten out of the fence.
They were laying in the middle of the road!
I went up to their house to let them know and then chased the babies back in.
They were very easy to chase in but I'll bet they came right back out after I left.

Megan took a 10 minute video and many pictures of her cat.
Google created this excellent short gif from a few of her shots.
