Summer Camp and summer fun

Krishna came over and we worked on our happily improving badminton game.

I found a super tasty and light summer treat that is like a tiny fried samosas in flavor but also like a super light minty snack. These are pani puri you should definitely try some. Yum! and so good when it is hot outside.

Speaking of hot outside. Check out this cool new car in the hot of Hawaii.
This week Dad and Mary put in a bid for a house and got out of the rental car and into their own new vehicle.
Progress is made.

The next door chickens found my blackberries. They also wandered around the backyard with Pax. Pax ignored them and now I feel like we have permission to get chickens. Someone please convince my poor husband that this is a great idea.

Kiernan wrapped up his 2nd week of Spanish immersion camp. He really didn't want to go each morning. He got anxious enough about it one day that he got sick on the way over. I took him home. I was worried enough about the stress reaction that I actually buckled down and got him an appointment with a counselor.
He liked Latin class quite a lot. That made me happy, plus he would occasionally yell things in Spanish at complete random. This entertained the heck out of me.
He would just be sitting there playing Fortnite and yell "Los Pantalones"! It is pretty hilarious.

On the last day they had a presentation. They sang song and did little dances.
He was in the 2nd row center. This photo for positional reference.

Here are some of the songs. If you want to hear more I have them, you need only ask.

Afterward they had cake. He saved me a candy from the morning and was adorable and sweet throughout.
Strangely on the survey at the end of the session he said that he would do it again in French and German if given the option.

Megan went to pirate camp this week an improved her treasure hording and pool noodle whacking skills.
I still need the pictures from that. She loved it.

My garden has gone from purple to orange, a sure sign that summer is moving by.

On Friday we went to D&D and made bloody/Virgin Mary's. We used a mix with sriracha in it.
This seemed to be a little too potently hot for the group as a whole but David was sure happy

I managed somehow to battle the giant spider all by myself and was inordinately proud of myself. Kathryn plays with us using something like skype for gaming. Its so fun to be having an activity in common.
She is about to start a Masters program and I am all sorts of inspired and impressed.
I'm headed back to school again this fall. I usually only take 1 class at a time and always online so that I don't lose work time or time with the kids.
My class this fall (Renaissance Literature) is the last elective for my major (Biotechnology) and the last class I can take online. I have 3 more classes left but need to take 4 because they have chemistry as a prereq.
I am not confident in the least about how that is gonna go.
I will need to find time and energy to add a daytime lab class to my schedule and then make up the work time ...
blaa

We went to Scearces this weekend to do some yardwork. Unfortunately it was raining all weekend so we did what we could between showers.
David and I got a lot of mowing in.

Michelle attacked the back patio and Chris helped Licia move wood.
We are going again next weekend to try toe wrap up what we started this weekend with less rain.

We got some nice green tomatoes for frying at lunch time.

We have a few of those at home as well.
I used some Scearce garden peppers and some Kuehnert garden cucumbers and some farm-stand red tomatoes to make a huge batch of gazpatcho.
It was delicious.
Man I love fresh veggies and fruits.

Behold our silly dance  (not our dance) to entertain Kelsey.
Pax was into it.
