Hehe 7 dollar grocery store bubble machines are a worthwhile investment.
As Kiernan has an interest in cemetery visits just now I went, on my lunch break, to the Francis Scott Key memorial this week on a scouting trip.
Wow this place is dense and beautiful and historically significant. If you even a little bit like this sort of thing I recommend giving it a visit.
Our neighbor has two rabbit statues by her mailbox. Megan is in love with them. Also you can see that the phaux hawk I gave Kiernan earlier in the week is holding strong! That boy has the thickest most low maintenance hair I have ever encountered.
My teeth are proving to be an unexpected and complicated pain.
As you can see I have 3 wisdom teeth left. My plan was to get them all removed so they stop bothering me every time something happens to my jaw (for instance my dental cleaning and filling last week). The lower one has its roots in the nerve and there is a 3% chance I will lose feeling in my jaw permanently and the upper 2 are in my sinus' so there will be possible problems with the bones filling back in after the teeth are extracted. Also some risks for sinus and jaw and socket infection. Plus they will probably put me on antibiotics and after that last experience I just really want to avoid anymore entanglements of that kind.
But
Now my teeth hurt and I will probably go ahead and do it anyway.
The oral surgeon was also concerned about the staph infections and the abscesses and told me to be careful...
How can I be careful?
He said I should stay on top of it...
How can I stay on top of it more than I already am.
It was an unsettling conversation
I am all stressed out about it now.
He recommended waiting 4 weeks before scheduling the extraction to give my stomach some more time to recover from the last antibiotic course. So unless something changes expect to hear more later on about all this.
The good news is: my jaw is very healthy.
When I had my last wisdom tooth out (before this blog was started) I had a cyst and a hole in my jaw bone. They had to do a biopsy and they weren't sure if my jaw would repair itself or if I would just have a space where the bone didn't connect for the rest of my life. As you can see from the x-ray above my jaw is in one piece and the Dr. said it looks very healthy.
Yay!
On Friday we went hiking on Sugarloaf Mountain. My crazy kids are super troopers. They walked and climbed and jumped up the mountain so that I hardly had to carry Megan and barely need heard Kiernan. Kiernan did scale a super high steep face and scared the crap out of me.
On Saturday we did more frolicking in a cemetery.
We saw this awesome moth. It was nearly the same size as my hand it was beautiful.
We gave daddy a day to paint some more on Sunday (We are now out of all the original white paint). We went to play with the kitten.
And to make faces.
Mom had a medical procedure Monday so I took the day off of work and hung out with the kids.
Three things of note happened (other than moms procedure). I got my new guitar. Megan and Kiernan got matching shoes.
And Kiernan got some letters. He was so excited. He ran to the stationary to pick special reply papers.
Huzzah!
Thank you Aunt Pammy and Uncle Chris for the letters. He was so happy to get them.
Speaking of Uncle Chris and Aunt Pammy...
Aunt Pammy is pregnant with soon to be baby cousin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
