This week our good friend Martin arrived from Germany. I am pleased to report that this time he will be staying for at minimum a year. After some airport fun and a rainy day of welcome he seems well settled. We will be dragging him all over the place now that he is here, so you will probably see this face more in future.
Robin Williams died this week. It really tore my mom up. It actually reminded me of how my father was after John Lennon died.
She was sick for a bit and very sad.
I recommended that she take part in Amanda Palmers "Oh Captian My Captian" grief thing.
I hope that it helped. I know just doing something can be helpful from time to time.
We got a leak in the garage roof. Thanks in part to our record rainfall this week. David scrambled up there and patched things. This is pretty impressive work for a man who had been fasting and doing all sorts of prep-work for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy.

It always amazes me the good grace this man shows under such indignity. He gave a sample or 10 of nearly everything in him then starved and got poked and prodded and all the while showed good humor and sweet reliability in all his husband and daddy duties.
David is the MAN!
Kiernan's Soccer gear showed up. He was very excited. He ran all around the yard in his cleats and had Megan kick him in the shin guards.
I spent some time weeding. Oh gracious the weeds. On the other hand all the mulch has made the weeding 10X easier.
Megan picked flowers.
She also fled with my cucumbers to the picnic table.
David pulled down more of the hated paneling.
Then he painted more of the walls. The light seems so much brighter and the walls look so much cleaner.
We had beautiful weather. We had a picnic.
We met Uncle Chris and Aunt Pammy with super solid young Kaleb at the Olney Farmers Market on Sunday morning.
The kids decided they needed to entertain the masses in song.
They painted rocks while David got fresh tomatoes and yellow squash.
Yum!
Then we went back to their place and had a pool party.
Megan pushed Kaleb around and Kiernan pushed daddy around.
The kids did their homage to Kaleb.
Then decided to bring him home.
Ha!
David painted until nearly dark.
In other news. 1 week till school.
Both mom and Aunt Pammy got Kiernan clothes. Boy did they ever.
My boy is a clothes horse. He tried on outfits and talked about how rich he was now because of all his clothes.
This blue shirt with skull tie is is favorite.
