Fall has Fell

This week Kiernan had a few days off for Rosh Hashanah. On the days when school was in session he, along with his class had dress requirements. Each day the kids were asked to wear a specific color. This process is still ongoing. Below you see Friday's blue outfit.

While he was in school Megan and I, also in blue, climbed Sugarloaf.

We discovered a persimmon tree near the top.
Megan discovered that persimmons are not entirely to her taste.

When Kiernan got home he demonstrated his ability to read color words.
This is so cool!

Over the weekend David worked on the wheelbarrow. He also did some painting and some maintenance on the well pump with an air compressor.
After the wheelbarrow was fixed he moved more wood into the pickup for delivery to Scearces.

The kids and I did a little leaf collecting and took some pictures with my phone's magnifier.

The Tigers played Big Green this weekend.
I was less impressed with this teams style. Its strange how the personality of the coach shapes a team, even one as diminutive as this one.
The coach of Big Green was very invested in rules and because these are very inexperienced players that meant that the game was stopped over and over again.
It lacked the flow and a good deal of the fun of last weeks game.
Our assistant coach did a great job of encouraging the kids and keeping things as fun as he could.

Kiernan is not aggressive enough to make any major plays but he is in there and playing and having fun.
I am really pleased with how much he is into this experience.

On Sunday we went to Gaver Farm.
It was a blast.

It was hot and exciting.

There was a significant amount of bouncing.
There was a lot of splitting up and rejoining.
There was feeding the goats and there was driving.

Play this one with sound if you can.
A tunnel slide makes great sounds in a 5 year old.

We even hung out in a stuffy hot silo and played in the corn.

As above so below?
