It has started warming up. There is barely any snow left. The kids were so happy to have any semblance of warmth they deiced to have a spaghetti picnic.
I quite agree with them.
A good deal of the snow turned to fog early in the week. It was beautiful.
We went to the park and Kiernan decided that it was time to be barefoot again. I am not convinced.
The science fair will be this week so now we are working on the presentation board. Here is the lay out for the board. Clearly this is geared toward slightly older kids. Kiernan is now enamored of the word Hypothesis.
If you want to come to the Science Fair please do. It will be on Thursday from 6-730.
The kids both got quite sick. Kiernan was congested and throwing up and exhausted.
Megan was much worse off. She had a fever an ear infection an eye infection and a very bad cold.
The doctor said that if her eye became swollen shut that we should bring her straight in because permanent eye damage was possible. This is how close her eye got to being swollen shut.
Megan is now on antibiotics that are wrecking havoc with her stomach and she has a horrible series of diarrhea burns all over her poor butt. So now toilet time is an extra adventure. Her fever is gone though and her eye looks much better and in about a week we can get her off the antibiotics again.
Kiernan took Pax for a short walk all by himself this week. It was adorable. I told him that she liked to be talked to during the walk (it is a good way to keep her attention on the walker rather than on the squirrel). Kiernan chatted away to her up to get them mail and kept checking to make sure that i want watching him. It was very hard not watching him. I went into the kitchen and distracted myself until he burst through the door with the mail and the puppy and the pride of an independent boy.
On Saturday he went to his first birthday party. He had a great time. I am so proud.
Also on Saturday I took mom to a fancy fancy restaurant.
I think She enjoyed herself. The good food was elevated by the great service.
Also happily for my poor sore throat they had hot tea.
Over the rest of the weekend we spent time outside.
The kids flew kites.
Daddy amazed them with his mad skillz and even won a battle with a kite eating tree.
I got inspired by the warm and did some gardening and made a tea party for the family.
