On Thursday night Kiernan's school had its science fair and STEM night.
His project of comparing road salt to table salt was lots of fun and gave us some surprising results.
His display looked good and we made him a demo movie and had some snow in the freezer to give a real time exhibition as well.
Here is his set up.
Here is the movie.

As you can see lots of people showed up and the kids all did a great job getting into the spirit of the event.
There were tons of activities and we went home with a color wheel, a paper rocket, a catapult and two wet boat designers. Good job Twin Ridge.
Our results looked like this:
Below freezing - not much difference between road salt and table salt
brine refroze dangerously
Just above freezing - A very small difference between road salt and table salt with road salt winning out by 5%ish
At room temperature - Road salt is Way better than table salt and salt crystals for cooking does quite well
As it turns out all the research was very handy because on Friday morning we woke up to more snow.
Kiernan got the day off school and Megan was feeling better so they played around with each other while I worked on my household list of chores.
Friday was the first day of spring and I wanted to get some real spring cleaning going. I finally scrubbed the stove-top and counters and got rid of a ton of kitchen clutter.
I got Megan's room looking sweet again and (as promised) took the kids to bouncy castles afterward.
Next week the dining room!
I spent Friday evening doing an exam for school which left me feeling completely wiped out.
I am still fighting the cold and am a bit short on sleep and its been a rough week to keep up with work and the kids and school! Rough.
David took pity on me and cooked every meal this weekend plus let me sleep in on Saturday and Sunday. He is the best!
On Saturday Kiernan went to a birthday party for his friend Jacob.
Jacobs party was outstanding!
It was at Adventure Park USA.
There was pizza and laser-tag and a group of giggly 6 year olds.
There were hovercraft bumper cars and somewhat terrifying obstacle courses 20 feet in the air.
In addition to all of that good stuff, it got warm again and both the kids started to feel healthier.
We went swinging and I did some gardening.
On Sunday we gave daddy a little bread and went to Scearce's to throw rocks in the creek.
Have you noticed that Megan is in a princess dress in ever picture here?
We also got to see cousin Kaleb do his big boy walking thing.
Go Kaleb!
