Opening Day and a 5k

It was Opening day (happily delayed due to last weeks snow) on Monday.
The weather was great and Kiernan did fine. Megan loved it and was dancing around the in-field and high 5'ing everyone.

There was no veggie food but we snacked on root beer and Cheetos.

The older kids were very gentle and funny with the younger ones.

I was afraid Kiernan would have a rough time. Over the last 2 or 3 weeks he has been on the verge of tears way more often than I like.
On this occasion he was a little nervous but otherwise fine.
David stayed with him and mom stayed with Megs and I got snacks and visited both parties.
I feel for him as far as not wanting to be in a throng of noisy strangers with the enforced gaiety of the event.

Most of the rest of the week was spent enjoying the warming weather and the continued appeal of the trampoline.

Megan has even started doing tricks in costume.
This is the Ice Queen of the Trampoline.

They make sure to get all of the grown ups in on the action as frequently as possible.
We all love it.

On Friday for mommy and Megan day we took Pax to doggy daycare and went for a hike with snacks.

Here is a picture just after the one where Megan attempts to show you her half chewed candy bar.

On Saturday morning we took part in the Twin Ridge Superhero 5k and Fun run.

We had a 5k at 8:30.
I ran the whole way and am sore but pleased.

Megan had a T-Ball game at 9
I asked Licia to make sure that Megs was in uniform.

Apparently Licia took me seriously. She sprinted flat out got first place and got Megs to the game on time.

Kiernan had a good 1 mile fun run. My phone ran out of batteries so there are no pictures of that event.
At 11  Kiernan had his first machine pitch ball game.

After the game (in which he had a good couple of base hits and scored a few  runs) we went home exhausted with Scearces to have a cookout.

The whole rest of the weekend was spent recovering and without notable event except for the development of THE ALL NAP.

The all nap is a time mid to late Sunday evening  when everyone lays down for a nap.
It was the best thing.

I only made first of 50-59 females in the 5K. I was very impressed with Kiernan's and Megan's baseball and T-ball coaches.
