School has begun. Megan was so excited. Kiernan was a little reluctant but said he was also a little bored and ready for something new.
We went to Walmart to get school clothes and essential Pikachu outfits.
My anniversary present from David came. I love it very much. I have troubling dreams about drowning quite often and sometimes the beach scene over the bed and the beach scene in front of the bed remind me of those trapped feelings. Other times they remind me of the peace of surfing and snorkeling. I think it is very beautiful and am really please to have it. Its a beloved part of the artification of the whole house.
We had our company picnic this week. I was in a fairly anxious state but loved seeing my coworkers so happy and free.
I found the worlds most cammo moth.
Megan has continued to love school and is have a blast at life. It is wonderful to behold.
She is a crazy creature. Here she has tackled her sleepy daddy and pined him to the couch.
He meanwhile has had house projects never-ending.
He fixed Megan's closet.
He painted it and everything. It makes her room seem smaller but much neater.
He filled the hot tub
I made sodium free empanadas (sweet potato/black bean) they looked good but were really in need of salt.
We got into the hot tub.
It was a great wind down in the midst of a hectic time.
Kiernan had a Den meeting this week. He discovered that his friend and fellow Bear Scout has a Wii U just like cousin Shawn.
Kiernan really really wanted a Wii U. I asked him how much money he had saved up. It turned out to be very nearly enough for a used one. So off we went to GameStop for a used one.
Now he is building Mario levels and happy as a clam and 150 bucks poorer.
This is just the sort of thing that makes me feel like his saving of money is completely rewarding.
We got to the Patriots Day ceremony late and out of uniform and watched from the sidelines.
I felt so guilty about being so late. I took pictures for the usual Cub Scout things. I got mad at Megan for being loud and then guilty because even though it is a solemn occasion she is after all Megan and I know that when I take her places.
When I got home I worked on getting the Cub Scout pictures up on the Facebook page. I haven't written as many articles for them recently.
I have been taking pictures and posting them to the Facebook page and I have been planning displays. I even tried creating an event and an ad.
Kiernan has been sick and so we haven't been to all the events and also life is just busy.
The other day I went to Scoutbook (this is basically social media and advancement tracking for scouting stuff) and my name was gone from the pack leadership roster.
Apparently my lack of writing has been noticed.
I felt so bad about it.
I was there as Public Relations Chair before and now I am not. I will keep on taking pictures and writing stuff.
I asked my Den leader but she didn't know anything about it. Maybe it is an over site and maybe its just my slacking off. I want to know if I did something wrong or if someone just forgot but also I don't want to be told that I am not fulfilling my role enough to keep it. So for now I moon around and don't ask and feel guilty and unwanted.
This folks is anxiety...welcome...don't think that I haven't noticed it is dumb and easily resolvable but what is easy on paper is pretty hard in person.
Kiernan went to the shrink a few more times. He seems fine with it but the last visit left him pretty tied. Tired usually leads to sick and so it did in this case.
Should I feel hopeful that this is progress or worry that it is too much on top of school and scouts starting up again?
Speaking of scouts starting up.
Megan is now a Daisy Scout.
She is pretty jazzed. There are 9 girls in her Troop.
My friend Michelle went with me to the store to get the uniform.
Its pretty cute.
Megan has a new term for playing pretend. She calls it editing.
She asked me to go edit with her. I asked her what we were going to edit. She said grocery shopping. So we went and sat in the car while she pretended to drive us to the store. Then we got out of the car and wandered throughout the yard picking edible things and putting them into a bag. When we got home from our big trip I made mint tea out of some of our edited groceries.
Both kids are trying to do pull-ups and monkey bars as I offered chocolate bars for the successful attempts.
So far Kiernan can do monkey bars and Megan can do the pull -ups.
I have just this week regained my ability to do monkey cars and am super proud.
The chicken wire is helping the strawberries but the strawberries are having none of it.
We went back to Scearces to wish Grandpa Scearce a happy birthday.
Aunt Judy joined us. She is a blessing.
We also did some more yard work.
Kiernan came out of the house bored, so I gave him a weed wacker.
This turned out to be a great plan. He said that he had been wanting to help but that no one would show him how to use the equipment.
He is now on team yard-work.
Speaking of which. I got a new axe for splitting wood and if you are in the neighborhood we still have a tree down in our back lot that has 'cold winter nights at Scearces' written all over it.
Grandma Scearce got me these two great lanterns for an anniversary gift.
I adore them. I am all about cool Moroccan lanterns just now.
I had a sleep over and great morning with Megan over Saturday night and into Sunday morning. She told me that school makes her tired and that she is falling asleep in class. She also has a cold.
Welcome back to school.
While we did chores on Sunday mom took the kids to Gavers farm for hours of jumping and running. They came back hot and snotty and head-achy and both slept like logs.
She brought back my favorite cider doughnuts as well.
Thank you Nana!
David spot painted the deck.
I mowed.
He came and fixed the mower and I mowed some more.
I stopped a great deal for water and flower admiration.
Our sunflower is starting to seed. It looks so cool!
I mowed some more.
I also weeded.
Who put all this yard out there!?!
David hung another lantern for me.
Arting the house is fun.
We got this one in the scratch and dent at Pier One.
So far so good y'all.
