The New Year has arrived. Happy 2018
So I took a little blog break due to some deep unhappiness at work coupled with a college class taking up my time.
I am now back due to the class being over and me coming to terms with the unhappiness.
I will do another blog I think that is more talky but its been so long I'm just gonna give you a very condensed last 3 months picture show.
It was super cold but would not snow.
Everything froze and it was unsatisfying.
I got better at braiding Megans hair.
We had a pinewood derby.
Megan won the sibling and family class (she crushed it).
Kiernan's car cracked and didn't even finish. This boy has gone to region level every year thus far and this time he had to swallow the disappointment and congratulate his friends and move on. It was rough but he was amazing.
I don't wish loss on him but I was so proud of how he handled it. Most people thought he didn't even care because he was so calm and sincere in his congratulations. It hurt him quite a bit but he didn't show it till he was home to talk about it and even then he was pretty coherent and expressive but also calm which would not have been the case in years past.
We made some mead. It turned out well and I think we will do it again shortly.
We had a few predictable illnesses.
Kiernan had stomach stuff.
Megan had earaches and ENT stuff.
We did an escape room.
So much fun.
I joined a club called The Historic Haven. It is a club for people who like games and history and crafting. I like all of these things and have begun implementing club tings in my home.
This game is called Splendor. It is fantastic.
I dyed the kids hair and they got dramatic haircuts.
We had a number of Girl Scout activities.
Megan sold Girl Scout cookies!
Erena got a fancy photo shoot.
Kiernan got to use power tools and earned his whittling chip.
He also had a birthday.
We went to Spa World.
Megan loved it and Kiernan did not but they both dug the mochi.
Kiernan used his saved up money to buy supplies for our local food bank.
We went to a smashing birthday party for Kaleb.
I started to make a lyre at haven.
It was so much fun.
Megan fell through the ice.
We got some visitors from Japan.
It was fun.
I did a Lion Dance for the first time in 20 some years.
SO happy!
David and mom had a birthday.
We watched a lot of Olympics.
We said good-bye to some visitors from Japan.
The kids got a school day in their pjs.
Megan sold some more cookies.
We had a fancy Blue and Gold banquet.
Kiernan's beach cake won a thing.
My daffodils came up.
I found a picture of me as a baby.
I finished my lyre.
David got a sweet tattoo for his birthday.
We had a fun St. Pats.
The hot tub was refilled after the frost warnings seemed to be over.
Then it snowed a ton.
Finally!
We got half a day off work.
I took a whole day off work.
Megan made herself some skis.
I did a stint as a science fair judge for work. It was so impressive to see those kids.
I got not one but two great dates in a single day.
First we went to Ri-Ra for Irish breakfast.
Then we went to Chaia for veggie taco lunch.
There was a fair old hike in the middle so I could fit all that food.
I found a drone stuck in a tree.
David made a wall mount for my lyre.
Spring came with blossoms and chicks.
We dyed Easter eggs and ate some matzoh.
We went for a warm weather hike at Cunningham falls.
I took the kids to Haven and they wore the helms.
Megan finally got to chose her own earrings.
We hid eggs.
We found eggs.
They even hid the eggs for us to find... we found all but one.
We ate a great Easter meal.
We got to hang out with family and friends.
Happy Easter.
You are all caught up.
